Ask Jeeves Ask Not For Paid Inclusion Fees

The day Yahoo (quote) shifted its search business to a paid inclusion model, competitor Ask Jeeves (quote) exited the paid inclusion business. The company said paid inclusion does not have a material impact on its revenues and that contextual advertising placed with search results is a more reliable model.
"We've found it impacts relevance of the results," Jim Lanzone, vice president of product management for the company told The Wall Street Journal.
